Philip Robinson
is currently Chief of Mental Health at the Womens
and Childrens Hospital in South Australia. In addition Philip is Director of
Telehealth Services at the Hospital and is responsible for the development of
videoconferencing and world wide web strategies throughout the organisation.
Philip is a clinical psychologist by profession
having graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Arts degree before
undertaking postgraduate studies at the Flinders University where he obtained a Diploma in
Applied Psychology and a Master of Psychology degree.
Philip has a keen interest in advocating for child
and adolescent mental health issues and was responsible for convening the Inaugural
National Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference in Adelaide in February 1995. He is
currently leading the formation of the Australian Infant, Child and Adolescent Family
Mental Health Association which has been formed as a result of this Inaugural Conference
and the follow up Conferences held in Melbourne in November 1996 and Sydney in July 1998.
Philip is currently Chairperson of the Organising Committee for the Fourth Conference, to
be held in Brisbane 28-31 March 2001 entitled, "Building Bridges: Promoting Mental
Health for families and communities". Philip also has a keen interest in
improving health service accessibility for people in rural and remote areas.
