Vicki Cowling is the Mental Health Promotion Officer (MHPO) with Maroondah Hospital Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in outer eastern Melbourne. The emphasis of the MHPO role is working in partnership with community sectors, including schools, to increase both knowledge and understanding of mental health issues, and access to mental health services for children and young people. Vicki is trained in social work and psychology and worked in the child and family welfare field before commencing research and project work concerning children of parents with mental illness and their families some years ago.
