Program Description A joint project initiative between Barwon Health Psychiatric services & Glastonbury Family Services , funded by D.H.S. The initial funding is for 12 months,but it is hoped this funding will be on going.The full-time project worker's primary role is one of capacity building. Elements of the project include;
* Education of Adult Mental Health Staff & the child & family sector.
* Promotional campaign to prompt awareness of the needs of C.M.I.
* Development of a Resource base to be accessed by Families & workers * Secondary Consultation
* Development of Peer Support Activities-P.A.T.S. Program is the first to be utilised
* Limited individual intervention
Evaluation Information Multi-facetted dependent on activity. Focus groups conducted at the beginning & end of Project. Pre & Post questionnaires for group programs Evaluation of Educational sessions. Evaluation of Secondary Consultation Project also has a Reference made up of workers from relevant services & consumer. Research possible to be undertaken if Project is re-funded
Evidence Project Worker has experience in both Adult & Child & Adolescent Psych. Utilising programs such as PATS & Champs as Models of best practice.
