Program Description

Evaluation of child and family parameters followed by a programme of psychoeducation, family communication sessions, and groups for parents and groups for children. The impact of the programme on individuals is regularly re-evaluated.

Evaluation

The details of functioning are gathered through interview, and the degree of strength in these areas is quantified using the parents’ version of the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (Goodman, 1997). The child is asked to complete the Self Description Questionnaire (Marsh 1990) and the competence scales of the Child Behaviour Checklist (Achenbach & Edelbrock 1983).  The strength of family themes are assessed using the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales (FACES II)(Olson et al 1982).
