COPMI Project Update - 07/11/2003

Reference group meeting - Next steps

In Sydney on the 18th of November the COPMI Reference Group will hold only their second meeting on a face-to-face basis since the commencement of the project as they usually meet by telephone conference. The first meeting of the Group was held in Melbourne in April 2002.

The meeting will hear from Prof. Graham Martin and Ms. Tracey Kay from The University of Queensland about the evaluation of the Draft Principles and Actions Document and the range of draft resources that have been developed and pilot tested this year. Reference Group members will then discuss and make recommendations to the Department of Health and Ageing (represented at the meeting by Ms. Lucy Kane) to guide the next stage of the project - the final development of the key document and other resources and the associated communication and dissemination strategy.

The Project Team will meet again with Ms.Lucy Kane and Ms. Dallas De Brabander from the Department the following week to develop the plan for the final 6 months of the project.

The Project Team are most grateful to the Reference Group membership for the time and effort required for them to prepare for and attend the meeting on the 18th and to their workplaces and families for releasing them for the day.
