COPMI Project Update - 8/9/2004Articles in AeJAMHThere are three articles of relevance to people working with children of parents with a mental illness in the August 2004 edition of AeJAMH, http://auseinet.flinders.edu.au/journal/ One of them is a summary of information gained from children and young people as part of the COPMI project consultations. It is entitled "Consulting with young people about service guidelines relating to parental mental illness" and, as with all AeJAMH articles, it is downloadable from the website. The TheMHS-AICAFMHA ConferenceI was privileged to be able to attend many of the presentations of relevance to COPMI at the TheMHS- AICAFMHA conference last week. It was wonderful to hear from family members (including young people, adult children of parents with a mental illness and parents) and from people working with children and families affected by parental mental illness. Congratulations to everyone involved. At the AICAFMHA stand at the conference we gave out every copy of the resources we had there - over 400 copies of each - and there was a great deal of interest from people wishing to order more. Paola Mason, Sue Garvin and I were also able to speak with many of the delegates about the project and meet with people on the National Consultation Group who we had only known by name prior to the conference. Thanks to those of you who introduced yourselves. Elizabeth Fudge Back to Enews Issue #4.16
