COPMI Project Update - 13/08/2004COPMI Stream at the ConferenceI'm excited by the range of papers to be presented relating to the topic of children and families affected by parental mental illness in the TheMHS-AICAFMHA Conference programme this year. I'm also looking forward to participating in a panel on the Wednesday of the Conference that aims to explore the concept of "Family Friendly Mental Health Services". Dr Frances Dark will chair the session and other panel members include Rose Cuff, Paola Mason, Kim Foster and a young person with a parent with a mental illness. Mail-outs of ResourcesThe COPMI website http://www.copmi.net.au includes a "Downloads' section where materials developed over the past two years are available. You can also order hard copies of the document "Principles and Actions for Services and People Working with Children of Parents with a Mental Illness" and the booklets "The Best For Me and My Baby" and "Family Talk" using an online form on the site or by contacting me directly. So far we have sent out over 5,000 copies of the Principles and Actions documents and more than 6,500 of each of the booklets. It's been great to see them heading to a wide range of individuals and services across Australia and to have received some positive comments about their usefulness to both service providers and family members. Reminder: The booklets and documents are free but as we have a modest postal budget we are asking organisations making large orders to contribute to the cost of postage. We have set a 'large' order at equal to or greater than 100 documents or equal to or greater than 200 booklets. Contact Sue Garvin (08) 8132 0786 or myself for a quote on the postal rate for packages to your region. Elizabeth Fudge Back to Enews Issue #4.14
