COPMI Project Update - 14/03/2005"The Best For Me and My Baby"As our stocks of the first print run (of 30,000 copies) of "The Best For
Me and My Baby" booklet have almost been exhausted we are about to organise
re-printing. We are aware that the following changes need to occur on the
inside of the back cover: COPMI and the mediaThe national COPMI project is soon to develop a "Media" space on the http://www.copmi.net.au/ home page and Matt Clear from Hootville Communications (matt@hootville.com) will be our first point of contact with representatives from the media. As reported in my last Update, Hootville are keen to work with AICAFMHA to develop a list of people across the country who may be able to speak with journalists (mainly from print and radio) about their experiences. These could be young people, parents with a mental illness, their 'co-parents' and other carers/support people (such as grandmothers). We would not expect any family member to participate in interviews etc without the support of workers they know (and support/advice from the Hootville people), so we have asked service providers in the first instance to help us identify potential participants. Please get in touch with me if you may be able to assist. Work with MindMatters - Sydney VisitI will be pilot-testing some of the ideas within the draft "Saving Francesca" package (discussed in my last Update) with teachers attending the national MindMatters conference in Sydney on Friday 18th March. Whilst in Sydney I will also be meeting with some COPMI Reference Group and National Consultation Group members about 'copmi' issues and developments in NSW. Elizabeth Fudge Back to Enews Issue #5.03
