COPMI Project Update - 20/06/2003

Baby Care Plan

Based on feedback received about the value of the care plan for children developed by COMIC (downloadable from their website http://www.howstat.com/comic), we are currently developing a care plan format that could be completed by parents of babies in case the parent is temporarily unable to care for the baby (eg due to being unwell and/or requiring hospitalization).

If you would like to comment on the draft of this plan, please let me know and I'll be happy to send you a copy.

Workforce Training re COPMI

At a recent meeting of the COPMI Reference Group it was suggested that AICAFMHA develop a site on their COPMI web page where people could list any workforce training programs they have undertaken in the COPMI field. To assist us in this process could you please contact me if you have developed and/or evaluated any workforce training relating to COPMI (eg of teachers, mental health workers, child protection workers etc.). If we already have the program evaluation report of the training you've undertaken listed on our resource list you do not need to re-contact me at this stage. Thankyou.

Reminder -Pilot sites for families, children and young people's resources.

Could the people who are involved in the pilot testing of booklets, posters and postcards with parents affected by mental illness, their families and children please send their completed surveys to Tracey Kay as soon as possible if you haven't already done so (Tracey Kay, Research Assistant, Department of Psychiatry, The University of Queensland, Mental Health Centre -K Floor, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Herston Qld. 4029). Thanks.
