COPMI Project Update - 26/03/2004Release of COPMI document, family booklets and websiteTrish Worth, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health and Ageing, has kindly agreed to launch the following COPMI resources at the Adelaide Zoo on Tuesday April 20th 2004. * "Principles and Actions for Services and People Working with Children of Parents with a Mental Illness" document - providing guidance for both organisations and individuals. * "The Best For Me and My Baby" - a booklet developed with and for women with a mental health problem or mental illness - and their partners - who are thinking about having a baby, are new parents or are about to have a baby. * "Family Talk" - a booklet written with and for families in which a parent has a mental illness or mental health problem and contains tips and information for parents, children and young people and others who care. * The COPMI website for people working with families affected by parental mental illness. - the site will contain specific pages of information for people working in the following fields - General Practice, Education, Justice, Child Protection, Early Childhood, Child and Family Health, Youth and Community Work and Mental Health Services. It will also contain information about relevant resource books, fact-sheets, videos and CDs and information about programmes and services available in Australia for children of parents with a mental illness and their families. Thankyou to everyone who has been involved in the development of any/all of the resources. It has been a great collaborative effort over the past 2 years and we look forward to the launch.
