COPMI Project Update - 29/08/2003A message from the COMIC representative on the COPMI Project TeamWell, we are well under way with responses to the Peri-natal booklet, Family Booklet, Postcards and Posters. All feedback so far has been noted and it has been terrific that so many people have responded. You know who you are and thank you. Also a big thank you to all who have completed the pre and post surveys on the piloted website. As you can appreciate, it is important that all this information is collated and I am glad that its not me - we really need to acknowledge Graham Martin and Tracey Kay for that (I hear that they're good at it too!) Thank you. Once again I cannot express enough my thanks to Elizabeth Fudge who is the backbone (Project Manager) as her tasks have been enormous. Phil Robinson has been terrific in his support and wisdom too. Sue Garvin has had a great deal of running around and handles all the budgeting, which is slowly diminishing as we can all expect with all the work being undertaken. From our perspective at COMIC we have been busy here in South Australia with presentations and attending various committees. It is encouraging how so many people have embraced us and we are supported in the knowledge that we fit so well under the umbrella of Promotion, Prevention and Early Intervention. We also fit within Recovery and Rehabilitation model, which is a current direction within mental health reform. We feel encouraged and hopeful of future developments in the area of Children of Parents with a Mental Illness, it is hard work at times, frustrating at times but with so many people from various streams collaborating, it is amazing what we can achieve and on a more positive not what we will achieve.
