COPMI Project Update - 6/9/2002

COPMI Project Update - 6/9/2002

Discussion Document

The big news from this site this week is, of course, that the COPMI Discussion Document has been released. This marks the end of the first consultation and literature review stage. We will await responses to the COPMI Discussion Document (the due date for feedback is October 25th) before developing a draft COPMI Principles and Guidelines document. Aspects of that draft document will be pilot tested and further feedback sought in 2003 before the final COPMI Principles and Guidelines Document is produced and widely disseminated in early 2004.

Youth Consultations

Around the country at the current time, some key service providers are asking young people aged between 13 and 18years of age to be Youth Consultants for the COPMI project. The Youth Consultants will interview peers to gain further information to assist the development of the COPMI Principles and Guidelines document. Other service providers who run support groups for younger children have been asked to consider running focus groups with 8- 12 year olds using prompt questions supplied by the COPMI Project team. Many thanks go to those who have/are helping ensure the project has a strong youth consultation aspect.

Discussion Document - Telephone Feedback Lines

A telephone feedback-line for those wishing to provide verbal feedback about the COPMI Discussion Document will be staffed at the following times on October 16th 2002. Please download a flyer if you are able to advertise the feedback call line to consumers and/or carers.
For callers from the Eastern States, between 4.30 and 9.30pm
For callers from SA and NT, between 4.00 and 9.00pm
For callers from Western Australia, between 2.30 and 7.30pm
Call (08) 8161 6190
Phone calls will be returned at the project's expense if callers provide their contact details as soon as their call is answered.

A similar 'hot-line' organized by COMIC will occur in the previous week for South Australians. However, people from other states are also welcome to ring at that time if it is more convenient. Once again, phone calls will be returned for those calling from outside the Adelaide metropolitan area. Call (08) 8161 6859 on Wednesday 25th September from 6.00 - 8.30pm South Australian time or the following day, Thursday 26th September, from 3.00 to 5.00pm or between 6.00 and 8.00pm South Australian time.

Newsletter item - COPMI Discussion Document

If you are thinking of putting an item in your next newsletter or staff bulletin about the Discussion Document we've made life a little easier for you. Simply download our news item and copy it into your document. Thanks for advertising the existence of the COPMI Discussion Document well before the due date for feedback, which is Friday October 25th 2002.
