COPMI Project Consumer/Carer Update - 20/05/2004Message from COMIC What a day it was! The Launch of the COPMI Project key document and resource materials on April 20th by Trish Worth at the Adelaide Zoo was terrific. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the animals were doing what animals do best - watching us? It was wonderful to see so many people and in particular so many children. The face painting was delightful and there were some terrific designs. I would like to thank you one and all for attending and hope that you had an enjoyable day. Thank You particularly to the Guest Speakers - The wonderful Parent and Young Person who touched all of our hearts. I felt very proud and privileged to hear their stories and what they thought of the resources, it reassures us at COMIC as to why we have such passion about the work we do. Thank you to Deb Kay from the Education Department for her enthusiasm of the resources and Angela Obradovic for coming all the way from Melbourne and presenting. A big THANK YOU to Elizabeth and Sue for organising the day - I know that there was a great deal of effort that went in behind the scenes and they did a superb job. To Phil Robinson without him none of this would be possible. Finally, to the Department of Health & Ageing who have funded the project. THANK YOU it meant a great deal to us at COMIC, it has all contributed towards our dream of Supporting Our Families. As I mentioned within my presentation "The work now really begins" - we will get the resources out and are now keen to see them being utilised. It will be interesting to see how they are being used and how they are influencing practice here and interstate. By the attendance at the launch we know that there are many people waiting and wanting to move this arena forward - we now have further tools to help us do so. To You all, thank you Paola Back to Enews Issue #4.08
