New website gives quick access to the latest Australian research

Locating reports and other research material on Australian social, economic, cultural and political issues can be difficult and
time-consuming. A new website, Australian Policy Online, aims to change all that. With sixty member centres and institutes, APO offers fast access to much of the best Australian research available online.

Details of new reports and articles from our members are constantly being added to the site. APO links you straight to the full text of
their reports, online. For journalists, teachers, academics and students, APO provides fast, comprehensive access to key research from
throughout Australia.

As the well-known legal commentator George Williams, director of theGilbert & Tobin Centre of Public Law, says:

"It's about time we had a website that brought together the work of Australia's leading think tanks and university centres. The site will be
invaluable for researchers, journalists and policy makers."

APO?s archives feature reports and articles grouped in sixteen subject areas, from health and education to cities & suburbs and the
environment.

APO?s team of guest writers and columnists weigh in on issues of the day in our Comment and Analysis pages, while the Debates section offers updates and links to resource pages on key policy discussions.

Complementing our members? research, APO?s Best of the Rest provides links to important new material from a range of sources, including
newspapers, the broadcast media and government.

APO?s website, hosted by the Swinburne Institute for Social Research, is at:
