VIDEOS MADE BY OR WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE ?
AN INVITATION TO SUBMIT
The International Association of Youth and Family Judges and Magistrates is holding its XVIth
Congress in Melbourne Australia between 26 and 31 October 2002. The Congress theme is "Forging
the Links" and it is expected that approximately 700 people from a range of disciplines will attend.
The Local Organising Committee wishes to schedule a session that is devoted to promoting videos
made by or with the participation of children and young people on one of the following topics:
The justice system
Accessing services
Taking part in decision-making
Individuals and groups who would like to submit a video to be considered for screening are
invited to do so no later than 30 September 2002.
Please note that the official languages of the Congress are English, French and Spanish.
Entries have to meet the following essential requirements:
The video must be no longer than 10 minutes.
The video must be in VHS format.
The video must be accompanied by your contact details and a short statement that would be
read out at the Congress ? no more than 300 words - about how the video was made with young
people?s participation.
The selection of videos for screening will be made by the Congress Local Organising Committee.
We regret that we cannot return videotapes.
