SANE Australia – Launch of new CD-ROM
The CD-ROM is the first of its kind, targeted at students, explaining what psychosis is, its symptoms and what it’s like for those who experience it, their families and friends. Produced for SANE by multimedia developer Violetta Stojanovski, the CD was a finalist in the recent Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association (AIMIA) Awards.
Psychosis: a SANE CD-ROM Guide for young people is available from SANE Australia for $35 plus postage and handling on 1800 18 SANE (7263) or at http://www.sane.org/ .

Resources

The Hard Words video is an educational resource for children, carers and families and those who work with them.   It focuses on the issues facing children who have a parent with a mental illness. ARAFEMI Victoria Inc now has copies of the video available for purchase ($30 incl post, handling and GST). The AMIGOS youth mental health project has developed a resource package that provides information for health services and health professionals about how to establish a comprehensive peer support for mental health project.  The package includes a video, which gives an overview of the project as well as a dramatised piece written by one of the members of the Community Support Group.  The package also includes a booklet which gives practical step by step descriptions of the AMIGOS project and a CD-ROM where Peter and Tim tell of their experiences with a mental illness.
The AMIGOS Resource Package can be obtained by faxing Child and Youth Health on (08) 8303 1656 for an order form.  The package costs $70.00 plus GST, Postage and Handling.

CLAN – Care Leavers of Australia Network
